Featured Case Study — Copper Mine Turnaround (Morocco)

In December 2019, ABM was engaged to complete an independent due diligence of a copper mine near Ouarzazate. Mine and plant performance were well below industry standards — but the favourable geological context, combined with cost-effective exploration and production methods, offered a clear path to a significantly improved business plan. The client extended the mandate to full-service support, from exploration to operations management: drilling campaign management, resource modelling and estimation, pit optimisation and mine planning, installation of management reporting and performance indicators, design of processing plant upgrades, and sourcing of key personnel.
Result: within six months, mine and plant performance reached four times the baseline — driven by improvements in grade control, plant recovery and equipment availability.
